The Nigeria Basketball Federation earlier today announced its continued partnership with Zenith Bank Plc for the Zenith Bank National Female Basketball League.
The unveiling held at the Press Centre of the NBBF was a formal announcement of the 2018 league season tipping off on the 28th of October in 2 centres.
The abridged format which was adopted due to the time frame between the league and the FIBA Africa Zone 3 qualifiers will take place in 2 centres- Enugu and Abuja.
The Managing Director of Zenith, Peter Amangbo who was represented by Akin Ogunranti (Ikeja Zone of Zenith Bank) expressed happiness over the partnership which has continued to yield tremendous results.
Ogunranti said Zenith Bank was proud of partnering with the NBBF in growing the game in Nigeria as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility duty.
NBBF Vice President, Babs Ogunade who represented the President, Musa Ah Kida thanked the bank for their continued support for women basketball in Nigeria for the past 13 years.
Kida said the federation will ensure that all stakeholders who are interested in growing the game are carried along for the betterment and growth of the game.
It would be recalled that in 2005, 8 teams started the league which has now grown to 21 teams.
